David Lynch is bringing his TV show, Twin Peaks, back. New episodes will begin airing on Showtime in 2016, which is 25 years after the original show ended.
The original aired on ABC, which I still have a hard time believing. As a kid, it scared the shit out of me, but I loved all of its Lynchian weirdness nonetheless.
As has been pointed out, in the original series Laura Palmer told Agent Dale Cooper: “I’ll see you again in 25 years.”
The new series will be nine episodes and Lynch will be directing all of them.
They believe it “will be set in the present day, more than two decades after the events in the first two seasons [and will] continue the lore and story of the original series.”
