The 3D interactive wall.

This has got to be one of the coolest things ive seen. Its called a Hyposurface.

It uses a mass of “telescoptic fingers”, powered by compressed air, that push portions of the wall outward up to 50cm at up to 60km/h to create motion and patterns that can react to the environment around it. That means linking it up to a sound source it can create three dimentional waves, patterns, images and even scrolling words.

Imagine this on a large scale on the side of a building somewhere. Its only a matter of time before one of these things appear in Piccadilly Circus or Time Square.
