Star Wars Pod Racer on water!

This is the Aquatic PodRacer which is entirely home made by Joey Ruiter, a boat builder. With no external propeller, the boat can run in as little as five inches of water.

It’s green too, since Ruiter used all recyclable materials.

Now he’s building a retractable hydrofoil, which could crank the top speed from an estimated 45 mph to over 65

And when at high speeds, the hydrofoil lifts the cockpit out of the water…how cool is that!

Cost…$20,000

  1. Oh, it’s “green”, is it? Not sure who’s feeding you the Kool-aid, but since the engines came from jet-skis, I’m presuming it runs on gasoline. Not very green.

  3. Heh, sorry… I’m just seeing the word “green” thrown around too much these days, more frequently by big corporations who seem more interested in remaining trendy than actually caring for the environment.

But seriously, I’m hesitant to consider something “green” that uses gasoline. I suppose this vehicle is “more green” than a boat made from new materials, but calling it outright green doesn’t seem right. This really would be a definitive example of greenwashing.

All that being said, I can see the sarcasm now. I take back the Kool-aid comment. Lost my head there. 🙂

  4. No worries. Totally agree with you on the “Green” labeling. Way to much of that going around these days.

    Cheers for visiting AB
