Director Spike Jonze appeared on BBC’s Newsnight last Friday to talk about his film Her, which is nominated for several Oscars, including best picture.
Anchor Emily Maitlis bills the movie, which is about a man who falls in love with his operating system, as being about “falling in love with your software.” Well, that ticked Spike right the hell off.
He tries to turn the interview around, constantly asking Maitlis what she thought of the movie and if it moved her while she’s trying to ask him questions.
Awkward!
She handled the situation pretty professionally. Spike Jonze? Eh… not so much.
But hey, he’s a sensitive artist.
After, Maitlis let everyone know what she really thought of the film. Not much, apparently.
Ok .now I can tell you what I thought of #her. Sad, male fetish fantasy of disembodied female who does his bidding..#newsnight
