Remember when Sochi had those Olympic games not too long ago? Yeah, that was earlier this year.
Not surprisingly, all of the infrastructure that was built for those games is now deserted and beginning to fall into disrepair. This pretty much happens with every Olympic city, with the exceptions being major cities that can find uses for structures built to house athletes and people to watch them compete after the games.
I mean, you don’t hear about the Olympic ruins on Los Angeles, London or Atlanta, do you? Meanwhile, the scene in places like Athens and Sarajevo are that of rot and decay.
Is Sochi going to suffer the same fate? Probably.
Many Olympic host cities will convert their Olympic infrastructure to other uses after the games if their Olympic function is of no use. Sochi appears to pretty much be letting it all sit there.
