The 105 freeway in Los Angeles shut down on Thursday evening right during the middle of rush hour. There was a suicidal man sitting on one of the freeway overpasses threatening to jump, so the highway patrol stopped traffic.
Here’s the guy standing atop the overpass.
So what do you do when you’re forced to stop your car on the freeway during rush hour because of a jumper? I don’t know. This has never happened to me.
But apparently, taking selfies with the jumper in the background is a legit way to pass the time and kill the boredom. Yes, kill the boredom.
Here’s example one.
Notice the jumper perched atop the overpass fence in the background.
Here’s example two, from the other direction.
Bad taste? Probably. Suicide isn’t funny. But on a positive note, this guy was talked off the ledge.
It took cops until 9:30 to get him down. The first call about the jumper came in about 5:30, so traffic was at a standstill for more than three hours.
Had to do something to pass the time.
