Would you like to test your strength with a 450 pound Bengali tiger? The Busch Gardens Zoo has created an “interactive exhibit” entitled Tiger Tug as it challenged visitors to prove their mettle against the fearsome feline.
Tiger Tug has caught on and has proven to be a major draw in the zoo. But some people find the exhibit questionable, saying that it is another form of animal exploitation. But upon closer look into the videos available, the tigers are not forced to grab the rope and pull on it. They do it on their own accord. The zoo apparently explains it to be akin to a cat playing with a ball of yarn. More importantly, the activity can be a form of exercise for these creatures and keep them active. Lethargy and obesity, after all, is common for animals kept in captivity.
