Pink Floyd Dole Banana Commercial [Video] 0
At first we thought this had to be fake, but apparently it actually happened. Pink Floyd lent one of their songs to Dole for a banana commercial. The song was “The Great Gig In the Sky” from Dark Side of the Moon.
The tag line for the spot was, “Dole Banana: If you feel it. Peel it.” I don’t feel anything other than high as hell right now.
The commercial apparently ran from 1974-75. Dark Side of the Moon was released in 1973. I’ll be asking myself, “What the hell?” until at least 2025.
As a side note, has anyone else ever seen a commercial for bananas? Oranges, sure, but bananas?
