All of the Hunger Games Movies are at Walmart!
Oh, look. All of the Hunger Games movies are already available at your local Walmart. You don’t even need to go to the theater!
Seriously, I don’t know if it’s funnier that this person didn’t know there were books or that they still own a VCR. I bet not even Walmart sells VHS tapes anymore.
Here’s a Nintendo GameCube Hookah
Remember the Nintendo GameCube? Of course you don’t. It’s the system that came out between the Nintendo 64 and the Wii. So why would you need that?
I had a friend who had one, though. We played it for about six months and then moved on to something else. I think it was called a PlayStation of some variation.
Well, Nebula Vaping Lounge in Mesa, Arizona (which is a fairly-large city next to Phoenix, for those of you who don’t know Arizona geography) has found something useful to do with these consoles. Turn them into hookahs!
I can’t quite see from the photo where the hell you put your tobacco… or what have you, in, but this is nonetheless an awesome idea. They’re apparently going to start selling these things at some point.
Presumably if they can locate enough GameCubes…
Jay-Z Ranks His Own Albums
What does Jay-Z think of his own work? Now you know. This is HOV’s ranking of his own albums.
Personally, I like The Black Album, but everyone else seems to agree Reasonable Doubt is a classic.
Shot by Elliot Wilson.
Awesome Letter to Santa
This is so great. This letter to Santa is filled with URL strings. Note, one of them is obviously some sort of plane ticket or something from Orbitz.
Oh, and $50 cash.
Old Guy Kicks a Student in the Face at a Football Game
This video comes from last Saturday’s college football matchup of instate rivals Arizona State and Arizona. They don’t like each other very much and, apparently, some of the fans of each team don’t like like each other very much.
You always see people swearing and hurling insults at opposing fans at football games. Sometimes fights even break out. Rarely does one of those fights involve an old guy kicking a student in the face.
This one did.
You get him old-timer!
The Blues Brothers Recreated in LEGO
Here’s the scene in The Blues Brothers were the cops are chasing them through the mall recreated in LEGO. It’s totally spot on, as you’ll see because the original scene is also in the video.
My only question is this. Who has the time to put something like this together? Is there such a thing as a person who builds stuff with LEGO as a profession?
Han Solo’s Blaster is for Sale
If you’re a big Star Wars fan and have an extra $300,000 laying around you can own Han Solo’s DL-44 Blaster. The weapon was used in both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
It’s up for auction at Invaluable. Estimated price: $200,000 to $300,000.
Here’s a snippet from the description.
Harrison Ford “Han Solo” non-firing DL-44 Blaster from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. (TCF, 1980, 1983) Harrison Ford’s charismatic smuggler, Han Solo, is arguably the most popular character in the original Star Wars trilogy. The space-scoundrel-turned hero’s persona is irrevocably tied to his blaster pistol. Solo was modeled after the rogue gunslingers of the westerns that influenced creator George Lucas. This non-firing blaster was created for The Empire Strikes Back and was also used in Return of the Jedi. It would have been used in the majority of scenes that feature Han, with the heavier, live-fire weapon being used for close-up shots. Particularly noteworthy scenes requiring this lighter version are when Darth Vader uses the Force to lasso the blaster out of Han’s hand in Empire, and in Jedi when Han wrestles with a Stormtrooper to regain possession of his blaster during the Rebels’ encounter with Imperial forces on Endor.
Damn, it doesn’t actually fire.
The blaster is the only one known to be owned by a private collector, so it’s probably your only chance to own one. You know, if you’re super rich.
This is What a $9,600 Phone Looks Like
What’s so special about this phone you’re probably wondering? Well, for starters it costs $9,600. This is the Vertu Ti.
It features a sapphire-covered 800 x 480 display, a 1.7GHz processor, a 1,250mAh battery, 64GB storage, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera and a titanium shell.
If you buy this you also get a free concierge service for a year and access to special events.
Oh, and this is the low-end phone too. There’s one that costs $19,900 and there are two others at price points in between. The funny thing is it doesn’t even have 4G.
Disintegrating Cars by Fabian Oefner
These are from artist Fabian Oefner‘s series called Disintegrating. They’re actually photographs of model cars. Each piece is placed where it needs to be and then photographed. Then all of those photos are assembled into one.
You can take a look at the process in this video.
